The hills surrounding Adelaide were planted to some of South Australia's very first vineyards in the 1800s. Most of these have since disappeared, but the cool climate and fertile slopes of the Adelaide Hills now provide the idyllic growing conditions for truly world class Sauvignon Blanc. Fruit is grown on Hewitson's own vineyard between Hahndorf and Mount Barker. LuLu articulates a perfect harmony, the affinity that stands between Sauvignon Blanc and the terroir of Adelaide Hills, displaying fresh, varietal characters and crisp acidity.

Isolating the right varietals on the right site within the most appropriate terroir is the mission. Hewitson has built a formidable stable of individually crafted wines. Proudly single vineyard, LuLu speaks of the very special environment which defines Adelaide Hills as a premier viticultural precinct. Located in the highest reaches, looking out across Mount Lofty Ranges, the property is ideally situated by virtue of its elevation and cool climate. Grapes are picked in immaculate condition. After a cool fermentation, the wine is naturally settled before cold filtration and bottling, barely three months after harvest.
