Leeuwin are particularly adept at vinifying world class Chardonnay, the estate's flagship is Langtons Classified, a member of the most elite rank in Australian wine. On three occasions, Leeuwin have been listed on the Wine & Spirits International Winery of Year and included in the prestigious 1OO Vins De Legende. Prelude Vineyard is an elite site, closely managed by the highly decorated Chardonnay artificers at Leeuwin, to yield a tghtly focused wine with layers of impeccably clean flavour, a remarkable balance and exquisite style.

Chardonnay is a grape that Leeuwin does exceptionally well. Winemaking however is an art as well as a science and it is here where the skills of the staff combine with technology. Broadly following European old world practices, Leeuwin remain focused on achieving complexity, balance and longevity in their wines. Strict temperature controls, Bucher pneumatic presses and a cellar of imported French oak are at the disposal of the winemaker to ensure that the fruit is transformed into the finest Margaret River Chardonnay. Enhanced by a regimen of lees stirring over the course of many months, Prelude achieves the ultimate balance while maturing in a selection of fine French oak barriques. Alcohol 13.5%
