Peter Lehmann has long believed the Barossa to be a winemaker's paradise. This relatively small winegrowing region is capable of producing outstanding quality wines from a wide array of traditionally grown grapes and a growing retinue of exciting varietals which have found a new home in the Barossa over recent years. Peter Lehmann established his consortium to vinify and label the fruit of local growers, eventually becoming a producer of flagship Australian wines with a well deserved international reputation. Each varietal component of Layers is individually fermented to dryness on skins, thence matured in seasoned French and American oak barrels for seven months prior to bottling. Alcohol 14.5%
