In 2001 The International Wine and Spirit Competition recognised the achievements of Wolf Blass, with an award for the Best Australian Wine Producer. Ever since the inaugural 1966 vintage, Yellow Label has developed a strong reputation for quality and consistency. Shiraz and Viognier grapes are crushed and inoculated in a mix of fermenters, vinified and pressed before a brief maturation under a combination of French and American oak, to retain the wine's primary focus on the fresh fruit characters.
