An enduring regional classic, which exudes the intensity and genteel graces that have become synonymous with McLaren Vale Shiraz. Tatachilla assembles the pick of harvest from fruit grown to mature vineyards at the heart of McLaren Vale township, from the eminent Blewitt Springs appellation and from Tatachilla’s own Clarendon Vineyard. Lighter crop yields and lower vine stress delivers very intense flavours. Shiraz is fermented in small eight tonnes vats for ten days. Traditional pumpovers, rack and retuns extract the most from skins. Tatachilla is matured in a combination of new and prior use French oak barrels, adding complexity whilst maintaining intensity of fruit.
