Vintage 2005 was early and warm, quick and exhausting. Warmer than usual autumnal weather caused an early, compact harvest. The late Indian summer lasted into May, well after all the fruit was brought in, at maturity levels, flavour and colour profiles not seen before the 2002 vintage. The quality of 2005 is sure to be ranked as one of the best on record, after 2002, with all vineyards yielding fruit of the highest order. The signature varieties for Eden Valley, especially Shiraz, performed brilliantly. The handpicked grapes are treated to a traditional vinification in open-top fermenters. Matured in a combination of new and prior use French and American oak hogsheads for twenty one months prior to assembling. Alcohol 14.5%
