Following the success of the limited edition PortWood® 1989, David Stewart The Balvenie Malt Master selected a number of traditional whisky casks of The Balvenie distilled in nineteen ninety one that were considered perfect for further maturation in Port Pipes. This has created a Single Malt Scotch Whisky that is rich and fruity and long in the finish. The Balvenie Portwood 1991 is an extremely limited release vintage edition.
Nose is a perfume of fruity and ripe raisin notes, and hints of vanilla and oak with a nutty dryness. Creamy, almost silky palate laden with rich fruits, honey and notes of spice. Finish is long, gentle & nutty
