Made from hand picked fruit grown on the Waihopai terrace, slightly cooler than central Marlborough, the long Indian summers allow fruit to slowly ripen without losing characteristic limey freshness. Vines are vertical shoot positioned, cane pruned, 2,500 plants per hectare. The vineyard sprawls across three hundred hectares of superb viticultural soils, nestled at the heart of Marlborough's Wairau Valley, bordered by the landmark range of Wither Hills to the south. The vines flourish in free draining, silty alluvial loam over deep stony river deposits, providing a near perfect growing environment. Ned is inoculated by select strains of yeast and treated to temperature controlled fermentations of 12C to 15C. Approx 13.5%
