Oxford Landing is a real place along the River Murray, where drovers once watered sheep on the long journey to Adelaide markets from northern pastoral lands. Established in 1958, the vineyards were strategically planted with uniquely selected grafted vines, on the pick of well drained, low vigor soils. The people who make Oxford Landing and manage the vineyards live on site and very close by, forming a strong community, with Murray River always in sight and environmentally friendly viticulture at its heart.
Choice clones of Merlot are determined by root stock to maximise flavour variation and complexity. Different clones will reach flavour heights at different times over three or more weeks at vintage. This diversity adds to the complexity and weight of fruit in the final wine. With such perfect growing conditions, the grapes can be harvested at optimal flavour ripeness, achieving wines of show excellent colour, bouquet and palate definition. Vinification is conducted in a combination of static and rotary fermenters under warm temperatures for several days, striking the balance between extraction of fine tannins for structure and retention of bright varietal fruit character, palate drive and fragrant aromatics. Alcohol 13.5%
TASTING NOTES
Magenta purple hues. Aromas of raspberry and red jubes, fragrant pastille notes, liquorice and spice. A succulent and fruity wine, generous plum and raspberry flavours over a structure of soft, velvety tannins, red berry fruit, black cherries and spice notes linger on the palate. A match to all things lamb, oxtail tortellini or crispy roast duck.

About Oxford Landing Winery
A Real Vineyard, Oxford Landing is the perfect environment for growing grapes with vibrant, fruity flavours
Oxford Landing is a real place, a real vineyard. A place distinguished by clear blue skies, rich red soil and an abundance of golden sunshine. Established in 1958 on the banks of the majestic Murray River in South Australia, the vineyard was named Oxford Landing after a nearby site where drovers once grazed and watered sheep on the long journey to Adelaide from northern pastoral properties.
