Warburn are amongst the Riverina's most conspicuous estates and one of Australia's most significant winemakers. They have extended their reach to retain good sites in the Barossa for the purpose of securing parcels of the finest Shiraz. Warburn's Stephendale Vineyards are exactingly husbanded to yield harvests of the highest order. The pick of Stephendale's grapes, exhibiting delightful spiced plum characters and vibrant tannins are fashioned into a generous wine which will be called upon again and again to accompany lamb cutlets or a gourmandise beef and burgundy pie.
The peerless Stephendale Vineyards were acquired by Warburn Estate with the aim of capturing the synergy between mature vines Shiraz and the conducive climes of sites lying in warmer pockets around the Barossa. Grapes are harvested as late in the season as possible, allowing the most amount of time for fruit to ripen on the vines, maximizing flavour development. Following a maceration for the extraction of colour and tannin, moderate temperatures are maintained throughout fermentations to retain the distinctive expression of site. After a year of maturation under a combination of finely grained oaks, the barrels are tasted and assembled into the consummate Barossa Shiraz. Approx 14.0%
TASTING NOTES
A brightly coloured wine, deep crimson in appearance. Ripe plum and blueberries on the nose and palate, complexed by pepper and spice, liquorices and mint. A well structured wine showing good balance of fruit, elegance, finesse and superb length after twelve months ageing under fine oak. Ready to enjoy now alongside tender meats, tomato pasta or ripe cheese.

About Warburn Estate Winery
Warburn Estate's outstanding success has been achieved through it's expertise in traditional winemaking and innovative techniques
Warburn Estate is located near Griffith in New South Wales, in the centre of the large Riverina grape-growing and agricultural region. Warburn Estate is one of New South Wales most significant wine producers with more than 1000 hectares under vine, a crush capacity of 40,000 tonnes, tank storage for 35 million litres of wine and an annual turnover of $40 million. Warburn Estate proudly remains a private company, maintaining its winemaking independence with the ability to quickly respond to market demands and client needs. The company (formerly Riverina Wines Pty Ltd), is owned by the Sergi family, whose winemaking traditions began in Italy many years ago. Migrants Giuseppe and his son Antonio began to grow grapes on their farm and making wines for his family and friends using old barrels and hand made machinery. He would often sell bulk wine in 200 litre drums, a practice common in Italian cantinas, and would travel extensively throughout Australia to supply his customers. Warburn Estate»
