Seppelt have been crafting some of Australia's most memorable wines since the 1850s, pioneering vineyard plantings on some of the best terrains in Victoria. Mount Ida is located in the legendary Shiraz growing region of Heathcote. Devastated by fire, the vines took years to fully recover and resume yielding harvests of extraordinary Heathcote Shiraz. Traditional winemaking techniques, when applied to the dry grown grapes of Mount Ida, produce an intense wine with ripe fruit flavours and lively black pepper characters. Following a spell of maceration to extract maximum colour and tannin from the grapes, Mt Ida is matured in a high proportion of new French oak barrels for a year. Alcohol 14.6%
