So confident are the directors at Chandon, in the skill and dedication of their winemaking and viticultural teams, they have granted license for their artisanal staff to assume the initiative and to construct special editions, to be crafted in limited quantities and treated to an extended term of age. Les Trois Rosé was made in vintage 2010, from superior harvests of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, grown to elite sites in Tasmania, Upper Yarra Valley and the Whitlands Plateau. At once delicate and powerful, endowed with the allure and irresistible charm of sparkling Rosé. Making truly great sparkling wine requires exceptional vineyard resources, Chandon are one of a very few who command the scope of and breadth of viticultural assets to fashion the most memorable vintages. Parcels of Tasmanian Chardonnay and Pinot Noir bring tension, acidity and freshness, Whitlands Chardonnay contributes complexity, power and weight. Upper Yarra Valley fruit imparts floral and spice to the finished Rosé wine. Pinot Noir is the compelling element, harvested earlier in the season and treated to a slightly unique regimen of vinification techniques, assembled with a cull of the finest Chardonnay components, extravagantly aged three years on sedimentery lees, without any exposure to oak.
TASTING NOTESBlush salmon mousse. The captivating aromatics of Yarra Valley Pinot Noir, hedonistic perfumes, bright fruit notes and creamy brioche, aged yeast autolysis, something almost pheromonal. Les Trois Rosé defines the zesty freshness and finesse of Tasmania's cooler climes, spicy, floral Pinot characters, Chardonnay chic, orange peel and ruby grapefruit, a pristine natural acidity and bolder flavours all around. An engaging, seemingly endless, evolving compex finish. |
