Black Chook clucks to the sparkle of a lively tune. An assemblage of vintage Shiraz wines, aged in older French oak barrels where they develop layers of fruit and a rich weighty texture across the palate. A component of younger wine contributes ripe juicy red and black berry flavours. Destined to compliment turkey and pork or the richest desserts, to be served at every celebration. Shiraz is sourced from the McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek. A Mediterranean climate with winter rainfall, low humidity and long warm summers makes the quality of McLaren Vale Shiraz the fruit of choice for this rich style of wine. The flood plains of Langhorne Creek yield parcels of aromatically seasoned Shiraz grapes with exemplary tannins which translate into sparkling wines with exceptional palate weight and complexity. The Galvanized Wine Group's collective approach to strategic viticulture, stratification of style and triangulated approach to vinification, includes the highly successful Woop Woop (out there from out there) and its sibling Black Chook label, all are wines of charm and character. Alcohol 13.0%
TASTING NOTESBright red/ brick colour with light purple foam and a fine, persistent bead. Aromas of pepper and floral, mulberry and violet, dates and sweet coffee. A big palate of plum and mixed berry fruits, lively mixed spice, charcouterie and leather. Supple vanilla oak and solid tannins in firm support. |
