Villa Puccini is crafted to embody the traditions and enduring spirit of Tuscany. The bold flavours of Sangiovese have been beautifully integrated with the supple nature of Merlot, the final wine is an easy to enjoy dry red that offers many of the rich complexities and character of the loftiest Tuscans. Only the finest Sangiovese and Merlot grapes from family owned vineyards near Suvereto, Cecina and Bolgheri are assembled. Villa Puccini recommends this medium bodied mediterranean be enjoyed young, alongside good cuisine and the company of fellow epicureans.
Mostly Sangiovese with a tenth of Merlot. Maritime influences and exceptional soils around the hillside Villa Puccini vineyards consist of clay, limestone and gravel. They impart a notable softness to the fruit. The Villa Puccini Tuscan starts with ripe coastal grapes, fermented according to ancient local traditions, it is then refined into a combination of large and small finely coopered European oak casks. Here it is allowed to mellow for a year, the separate barrels are then rigorously tested by the winemakers until the final mix is determined. The assembled wine is then cold bottled under a nitrogen blanket at the Castellani winery in Santa Lucia, Tuscany, followed by several further months of bottle ageing.
Ruby red colour. Complex bouquet of violets and cherry, chocolate and nuts, olive and bay leaf, lingering with rosemary and thyme. A full rich palate is dominated by blackberry fruits, mints and plum, cedar, oak and cinnamon notes. A dry red wine with depth and breadth, delicious flavours over refined silken textures. Delicious and approachable at its youth, a superb Italian food wine.
