Cuvee Brut is fashioned from some of the best fruit available to Hardys. Components of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been assembled into a flavoursome, fully aromatic effervescent wine, wonderfully balanced with luxurious yeasty biscuit characters, superior palate length and splendid mouthfeel. A classy effort by the nation's most accomplished and decorated team of Sparkling wine specialists, true methode traditionalle, ideal for every occasion, Sir James represents the first choice in everyday Sparkling wine enjoyment.
The Sir James range of sparkling wines was launched in honour of founder Thomas Hardy’s great grandson. James was Eileen and Tom Hardy’s youngest son, he followed in the footsteps of his forebears and becomes chairman of Thomas Hardy & Sons. For his services to the Australian wine industry, the sport of yachting, the community at large and to the handicapped, Gentleman Jim, as he is known to friends, received a Knighthood in 1989. The most extravagant Methode Traditionalle vinification techniques are employed in the production of Sir James Cuvee Brut, fermentation in own bottle, riddling and disgorgement. Hardy Sir James is one of the most reliable and enduring Sparkling in Australia.
TASTING NOTES
Medium straw hue, fine effervescence and persistent bead. Cuvee Brut exhibits the cherry and apple crunch of Pinot Noir, complemented by stonefruit and melon elements of the Chardonnay. The palate is full and flavoursome yet shows elegance of structure, biscuit notes and cool climate fruit flavours within a creamy mouthfeel, Sir James finishes long, clean and crisp with refined natural acidity.

More About Hardys Wines
Thomas Hardy left Devon in 1850 at the age of 20 and migrated to the new colony of South Australia
He established a winery on the banks of Adelaide's River Torrens in 1853. His Bankside winery was the start of an outstanding family wine business that grew to become one of the world's great wine companies. Thomas Hardy was a self-made man, a pioneer of immense character. With a mixture of energy, determination, shrewd judgment, innovation and a touch of daring, he pursued the highest standards in winemaking. At Bankside, and later at his McLaren Vale property Tintara, he focused on quality and craftsmanship. Tintara was to become the centre of Hardy's enterprise and by the late 1800s was one of the best-equipped and managed wineries in Australia. This success was substantially due to Hardy's initiatives in planting higher quality, lower yielding varieties rather than the coarser, heavier-yielding types more common at the time. His willingness to experiment with and to use novel equipment, much of which he designed and built himself, also contributed to this success. Hardys»
