Harvests of Cabernet and Shiraz are sourced from excellent vineyards, managed by the best growers. The quality of fruit is crucial, Wolf Blass focuses on ripe grapes with rich colours and heightened varietal expression. Red Label will evolve beautifully but is ultimately designed for early drinking and ready for enjoyment now. Savour this Wolf at every occasion, a superb food wine to accompany your favourite faire.
Wolf Blass is a titan of the Australian wine industry, the estate wineworks at Nuriootpa near Angaston in the Barossa produce many of Australia's best known and most popular wines, as well as some of the most highly sought, limited release Australian icons. Traditional winemaking techniques with modern controls are employed throughout the vinification, to preserve vital fruit characters whilst extracting good colour and the right amount of tannins from skins. Following the completion of fermentations and racking, a period of maturation under fine oaks has allowed the wine to integrate, the tannins soften and the fruit to develop complexity. Alcohol 13.5%
TASTING NOTES
Deep red core with crimson hue. The nose shows fresh, varietal leaf characters, aromas of plums and blackberry with subtle and integrated oak characters. A medium to full bodied wine exhibiting a sweet middle palate, finishing with fine and smooth, chalky Cabernet tannins. A good amount of oak is still there for fans of the traditional Wolf Blass style, a long lingering finish completes the profile of a stylish, generous wine.
