The uniquely Australian mix of Chardonnay and Semillon in vibrant drink now styling. Wolf Blass can offer an appealing classic dry white wine that's slightly more approachable and satisfying than most. Whilst the unique varietal expressions of each grape are present and distinct, they combine into a delightfully tight palate, beautifully balanced to complement each other. Superb as a sipping wine and excellent with food, a good all rounder that's fruit driven yet refreshingly dry, enhanced by a suppleness of creamy oak and crisp minerality.
Wolf Blass are well positioned to create the consummate classic dry white, as they retain some of the best vineyards in South Australia. Harvests of Chardonnay and Semillon from accomplished growers, some of whom have been supplying Wolf Blass since the 1970s, are collated by the winemaking team for vinification into the perfect crisp dry wine. Following the sorting process and pressing of fruit, a fermentation under controlled temperatures is initiated to retain purity of varietal character. Components are separately fermented and the wine spends time on lees, a batch is treated to a term under French oak. Those components most favourable are selected for assemblage into the final wine. Alcohol 13.0%
TASTING NOTES
Bright light straw in colour with subtle hint of green. Scents of tropical melon and stonefruit combine with citrus before moving onto the lively fruit driven palate. Expressions of peach and crunchy pear, lime, slate and mineral, culminating in a long flavourful finish. Drink now with salmon and dill infused dressing to compliment the lively Semillon Chardonnay fruit flavours.
