Yellow Label builds on the success that Wolf Blass has enjoyed after many years of perfecting a pure Merlot, to produce an everyday wine of quality, consistency and charm. Yellow Label represents a soft and flavourful Merlot with gentle tannins and mouthfilling varietal plum fruit flavours. Grapes are sourced from some of the finest vineyards in South Australia, highly specialised to yield harvests of Merlot which are second to none. Perfect with lamb and a treat alongside juicy roast pork and crispy yorkshire pud.
Wolf Blass continue to lead the nation as Australia's most enjoyed red wine, while commanding similar adulations as one of our most recognizable labels around the globe. Grown to the most splendid South Australian vineyards, Merlot has been the keystone to some of Yellow Label's most memorable vintages. Following the harvest, grapes are removed from the bunch stem and gently pushed through rollers to split the berries and release juices. Following a de-stemming and the crush, traditional inoculation, fermentation and cap management techniques are employed. A component is treated to French oak, adding further depth of flavour and complexity. Alcohol 13.5%
TASTING NOTES
Deep red in colour. The nose shows aromas of spearmint, blackberry, Dutch liquorice and plum interwoven with cedary oak. Medium to full bodied, a plummy middle palate with sweet spice and hints of chocolate, finishing with delicious fruit flavours over fine tannins. Ready to be enjoyed now alongside succulent roasted lamb with bay leaf and mash.

About the Wolf Blass Winery
The Wolf Blass winery is located at the epicentre of the Australian wine industry, the Barossa Valley and has produced some of Australia's finest wines since 1966
Wolf Blass Wines International was born in 1973 when Wolf started his own business, purchasing a 2.5 acre land holding with an old army shed outside Nuriootpa, at the northern end of the Barossa Valley. John Glaetzer joined the company and from 1974-1976 Wolf Blass Wines won three consecutive Jimmy Watson Trophies, the Black Label generated substantial publicity and hype. From this time onwards growth was impressive with Wolf Blass Yellow Label and Riesling becoming Australia's top selling red and white wine. Wolf Blass»
