A powerful, mouthfilling Reserve quality wine with fresh acidity, ripe melon and lime flavours, vibrant and fresh, offering more substance than most of its Marlborough peers.
Squawking Magpie is synonymous with prestigious, single vineyard, award winning, flagship New Zealand wines. From the estate's celebrated shingle gravel soils along Hawke's Bay, the winemaking team has ventured into the cooler climes of Marlborough to appropriate parcels of the highest order, for inclusion into a Reserve quality Sauvignon Blanc. Squawking Magpie fully expresses the distinctive regional characteristics and wonderful array of flavours that Marlborough has to offer. Sauvignon Blanc from the choicest sites are assembled and transferred to controlled fermenters at managed temperatures to capture and retain the excitement of Marlborough's unique terroir. TASTING NOTES
Platinum with hues of pale straw. Bouquet is vibrant and racy, gooseberry and currant aromas, passionfruit with pineapple, lychee and citrus, herbaceousness, asparagus and pea. The lovely aromatic characters are carried onto the palate. A powerful, mouthfilling expression of Marlborough with fresh acidity around a ripe core of tropical citrus flavours, this wonderful wine is vibrant and fresh, before a crisp drying finish.
