Nobilo is crafted from the pick of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, fashioned to a zesty, refreshingly fruit driven style, brimming with luscious gooseberry, lime and lemongrass flavours that linger long and languid on the satisfyingly, mineral textured finish. Another exquisite offering from the venerable house of Nobilo, pioneers of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, they continue to achieve remarkable international success with their stylish and irresistible white wines.
Marlborough is recognized everywhere in the world for its distinctive style of Sauvignon Blanc, a fair share of the credit must go to Nobilo. Components are selected from good vineyards in the Wairau and Awatere Valley subregions of Marlborough, on the basis of flavour intensity, varietal character and regional charm, with a view to achieving a complex yet harmonious wine. Grapes are crushed and destemmed, the juices are treated to a minimal amount of skin contact, minimizing unwanted phenolic take up, drained to fermenters and pressed. A variety of yeasts are chosen for their ability to enhance vital Marlborough fruit characters, optimising flavour while enhancing palate weight.
TASTING NOTES
Brilliant, pale yellow hue. Intense aromas of pineapple, passionfruits and guava, complemented by flinty mineral and herbal notes. About the Nobilo Winery
Steeped in history, Nobilo wines are proudly acclaimed as some of New Zealand's most respected pioneering wine brands
The history of the company in New Zealand goes back to the early 1940's when the Nobilo family landed in New Zealand. They settled in Huapai, West Auckland, situated in the North Island of New Zealand, and started planting vines in 1943. The Nobilo family effectively persuaded and guided the New Zealand wine industry away from hybrid grape varieties and fortified wines, to a higher level of quality wine, now recognised and appraised by all markets.
