Running With Bulls are crafted by stars of the Yalumba winemaking team, they have enjoyed astonishing success ever since inaugural release. The wines are realized from parcels of fruit grown to vineyards which have been trained by the finest viticulturalists to yield grapes which are exemplars of their varietal. Vermentino hails from the Islands of Corsica and Sardinia, new to Australia, it makes an engaging wine characterized by ripe, nutty fruit characters and herbaceousness. Running with Bulls is approachable, engaging and innately suited to food.
Harvests of Vermentino are predominately sourced from the Reichstein vineyard in the Riverland town of Renmark. The vines are planted to alluvial grey clay soils and are stimulated by hot and dry growing seasons which are perfect for Vermentino as it thrives in the heat. Grapes are picked throughout the cool of night to capture and retain freshness, before being crushed and de-stemmed to a holding vessel for skin contact for the purpose of enhancing flavour and aroma. The fruit is pressed, juices cold settled and racked to ferment. The wine is vinified cold to retain fruit flavour. Two months of post ferment lees stirring has added texture and improved the mid weight of palate.
TASTING NOTES
A pale green straw hue. Fresh aromas of nashi pear and dried herbs, with grapefruit zest and just a hint of seaspray. A fleshy yet savoury palate with flavours of white peach and grapefruit pith acidity supported by a highly textural finish. Enjoy with a crispily fried king george whiting and fat cut chips.

About Running With Bulls Wines
Running With Bulls are leading the rush of Mediterranean varietals which can make exciting wine in South Australia’s soil and climate
In 1999, after several study visits to Spain by Yalumba luminaries Robert Hill-Smith and Louisa Rose, Tempranillo was grafted onto old Barossa rootstock. Known to thrive in a range of conditions around the world, Tempranillo has an affinity with the Barossa region, where an ideal climate helps to showcase the stylish fruit flavours of this emerging variety. The experimental fruit of Hill-Smith and Rose whet their appetites and led to further plantings. Running With Bulls»
