From the nation's most consequential viticultural precinct, a beautifully balanced wine of moderate acid and low pH, perfect sugar levels and loads of beautiful fresh flavours. Three separate clones from four vineyard blocks in the valley surrounding the winery add to the complexity in flavour and contribute palate structure. An exquisite Riesling bearing the articulate expression of Canberra fruit, its tangy lemon and lime characters will handsomely complement creamy pasta sauces, fragrant chicken recipes and the freshest seafood.
Helm is a boutique cool climate winemaker, one of the first ever commercial operations in the Canberra region. Winemaker Ken Helm AM received Order of Australia for his work with Riesling, contribution to the Australian wine industry, support of cool climate producers and service to the Canberra community. Helm placed the Canberra region firmly on the map for world class Riesling after the inaugural 1977 release won significant accolades. Grapes are vinified to a combination of traditional and modern techniques, a component of Helm Classic Dry is sourced from some of Canberra's oldest vines.
TASTING NOTES
Greenish yellow colour. Striking floral bouquet reminiscent of apple blossom, clean and fresh, lifted floral notes. Richly flavoured with varietal citrus fruit characters, green apples and lime, exhibiting great delicacy, fine complexity and superb length. Balanced clean acid on the long fruit laden palate before a lingering aromatic finish.

About Helm Wines
Helm is a boutique cool climate winemaker, one of the first ever commercial operations in the Canberra region
Ken and Judith Helm started the vineyard, winery and cellar door in 1973 and have built it into one of the leading wineries in the Canberra District. It continues to be a family affair with all of the family (including recent additions) playing an integral part in the business. The winemakers are Ken Helm and daughter Stephanie, who are fourth and fifth generation descendants of German vinedressers from the Rhineland, who established vineyards near Albury and Rutherglen in the 1860s. Ken's flagship wines are Riesling and Cabernets and he has connections with Riesling makers from all over the world, eg: Dr Loosen and Katharina PrĂ¼m in the Mosel and Dr Alexander Kohen from the German Wine School in Koblez. Trips to the vineyards and wineries of Mosel, the Rhine valley and Bordeaux have fine tuned the Helm wines. In 2000 Ken instigated the Canberra International Riesling Challenge and his continuing role as chairman allows him to constantly keep abreast of new developments in Rieslings around the world. Helm»
