Wolf Blass enjoy a long established international reputation for delivering Australia's most popular and approachable, satisfying red wines. A secret ingredient to many of Wolf Blass most memorable editions has been the inclusion of Merlot. Wolf Blass himself knew that he had to have sources of good Merlot within his inventory of vineyards to assemble into wines which have since become legendary. Parcels exhibiting gentle tanins and delicious plum fruit characters have been fashioned into a generously flavoured Eaglehawk that's drinking beautifully.
Wolf Blass have been producing some of Australia's very best wines for over thirty years, receiving thousands of awards at international wine shows since 1966. Wolf Blass reds are renowned for their softness, roundness and generosity of flavour. Eaglehawk has proven to be a label of consistent quality, exhibiting rich varietal character and fine integration, each and every year. Merlot grapes are harvested from premium vineyards throughout the cool of night to preserve vibrant fruit character. Grapes are placed through the crusher/ destemmer and vinified for several days. The fermented must is then pumped into a press and clarified, before a spell of racking and maturation under French and American oak. Alcohol 13.5%
