Founded in 1911, Maison Salon is the passionate creation of one man, a Champagne connoisseur enchanted, then seduced by the terroir of Le Mesnil. Eugene-Aime Salon, a singular personality and bon vivant, succeeded in formulating the Champagne of his desire, a pure Blanc de Blancs without peer. Unique in many ways, the single Cru Salon is the expression of a few choice blocks within an elite vineyard. Wine lovers know that drinking Champagne Salon is an exclusive privilege, a very personal journey of exquisite delight. The fruit of one single terroir, Cote des Blancs, one single cru, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one single grape, Chardonnay, one single year, but not every year. Nestled in the heart of the Cote des Blancs, 100% Chardonnay and 100% grand cru, this is the king of Champagne vineyards. The production, inevitably limited, is the fruit of a handful of historically selected plots, of which one is essential, le Jardin Salon. Rigorous selection, keystone of quality, is the first phase of an uncompromising production that skilfully blends spontaneous art with unbending rules. Fiercely attached to tradition and to the authenticity of their site, the sister houses of Salon and Delamotte work continually to render its fullest expression. Creamy mousse, exceptional lustre and the finest bead, a deep blond gold colour. Opulent palate and nose with expressions of brioche, white bread, white flowers, earth and delicate yeast characters. Rich and mature upon release, an abundance of fruits before a sophisticated, memorable finish. |
