Redbox have claimed a multitude of medals and awards over a brief succession of impressive vintages, not bad for a recent starter. Pericoota is a gentle Shiraz wine offering complexity, harmony and supportive oak, drinking beautifully while young, with the capacity to age gracefully.
While still a developing winefrowing region, Perricoota is becoming known particularly for its premium quality Shiraz. Redbox has fashioned an immensely satisfying wine from parcels of the Perricoota cooperative's finest fruit, giving it the traditional open fermenter treatment followed by course of hand plunging under oak. Grapes sourced from vines at Mulyan Park at Perricoota on Murray were harvested in March and fermented in open vats for sixteen days before fifteen months maturation in a selection of new and seasoned French, Bulgarian and American oak barrels. Alcohol 14.3%
TASTING NOTES
Deep red colour. Soft spicy aromas with overtones of blackberry and jam, a classic wine, which will delight the senses. A rich style on the palate abundant with fruits, spices and well balanced oak sweetness, delivering a full palate and a pleasant structure. Here's a sumptuous new-world Shiraz to savour with plainly sesoned but strogly flavoured slow roasted beef and lamb.

About Redbox Wines
Right in the centre of the enchanting Shire of Nillumbik, at the western end of the Yarra Valley in the village of Kangaroo Ground you will find the Redbox Winery
Set on a property, named Wildfell by the first landholder in 1851, the Redbox Estate's fruit is gingerly tended and harvested to produce a fine range of wines. The Shire of Nillumbik is steeped in history and dotted with villages and towns, each with its own special magic. Names like Cottle's Bridge, Panton Hill, St Andrews, Hurstbridge and Wattle Glen all hinting of a culture brought to the region by the Scottish settlers in the early 1800s. The eight acre vineyard was originally planted to Riesling, Chardonnay and Cabernet in 1986. It's proximity to Melbourne and the rolling hills broken by dense stands of Red Box and other eucalypts makes it a haven for weekend visitors and wine tasters from all over. Redbox»
