About Sarsfield Estate Wines
Sarsfield is a tiny hamlet and surrounding semi-rural community on the Nicholson River in the South-Eastern corner of Australia
Sarsfield boasts a bridge, a dozen or so houses and a single street light in the middle. There are no shops, no pub and the school has been closed a few years ago. But of course there is always hope that Sarsfield too, will eventually graduate to a traffic light and perhaps a supermarket! The Gippsland area has been inhabited for at least 18,000 years by people of the Gunai or Kurnai tribe, living as hunters and gatherers in the hills and along the rivers and the coast. About Sanguine Winery
From the moment they laid eyes on the land, they knew they had discovered something special
That something special was rich undulating fields in the shadows of Mt Ida at Heathcote in central Victoria. Tony and Linda Hunter's vision was to create a family run boutique vineyard where quality, passion and energy were reflected in the wine. Sanguine Estate vineyard and winery, established in 1997, is located approximately 5km along the Northern Highway from the turn off to Echuca, north of Heathcote. Embraced by children Mark and Jodi and their respective partners Melissa and Brett, the family worked weekends to establish the initial 16 acres that grew rapidly over the following years to 55 acres in 2002. The family's desire to produce great wine flows through every glass. Through natural winemaking techniques combined with small batch processing and hand plunging, the purity and integrity of the wine is enhanced.

More About Rutherglen Estates Wines
The Rutherglen Estates wine range is inspired by the region’s traditions, and its climatic suitability for growing the classic grape varieties of the Rhone Valley and Italy
In 1996, after an extensive search for the area most suitable to produce an innovative range of wines, Rutherglen Estates was born. More About Roland Kaval Winery
Roland Kaval is an accomplished, entrepreneurial, and highly intrepid winemaker from Victoria
Durif is a rare red grape variety brought to Rutherglen from France in 1908 by the eminent Australian viticulturalist Francois de Castella. Whilst very little Durif remains in France today, the variety has flourished in Rutherglen where the long dry autumns and abundant sunshine allow the fruit to develop intense colour and rich flavours. In fact, this unique variety seems to have found its ideal Australian home in Rutherglen where it is regarded as the region’s flagship red wine.

More About Robin Brockett Winery
Robin Brockett has spent over 35 years striving to perfect the art of winemaking, since 1988 as Chief Winemaker at Scotchmans Hill
Winemaking is an art and a large part of that art is understanding the beauty and complexity deeply rooted in the vines from which the wine originates from. Winemakers are working with a natural product and as such, face a new challenge each and every vintage. The process is just as exciting as it is demanding, especially when Robin Brockett assembles grapes from local growers. Each and every vintage is a new challenge. No two vineyards are the same and that is where winemaking is so much fun. There is nothing like taking the grapes and appreciating their particular nuances to bring out the artisan in a winemaker.
More About Redbox Winery
Right in the centre of the enchanting Shire of Nillumbik, at the western end of the Yarra Valley in the village of Kangaroo Ground you will find the Redbox Winery
Set on a property, named Wildfell by the first landholder in 1851, the Redbox Estate's fruit is gingerly tended and harvested to produce a fine range of wines. The Shire of Nillumbik is steeped in history and dotted with villages and towns, each with its own special magic. Names like Cottle's Bridge, Panton Hill, St Andrews, Hurstbridge and Wattle Glen all hinting of a culture brought to the region by the Scottish settlers in the early 1800s. The eight acre vineyard was originally planted to Riesling, Chardonnay and Cabernet in 1986. It's proximity to Melbourne and the rolling hills broken by dense stands of Red Box and other eucalypts makes it a haven for weekend visitors and wine tasters from all over.

More About Redbank Long Paddock Wines
The Long Paddock wines honour the ingenuity and courage of the early Australian drovers
Inflicted with cruel and regular droughts, these men and women faced the option of giving up and starving along with their cattle and sheep or flinging open their boundary gates and allowing their stumbling, starving stock to roam the bush roads and tracks in the desperate hope of finding food and water. Somewhere. Anywhere. This was known as “droving the Long Paddock”, a task that could take them away from their family and home for months and months. Sometimes even years. Fortunately some stock was saved. Unfortunately for some, when the rains didn’t come the heartbreak of seeing their stock die became a regular occurrence. This was the beginning of the Long Paddock tradition.

More About Rahona Valley Wines
Rahona Valley Wines is nestled within the elevated aspects of Red Hill which overlooks Mount Martha and Port Phillip Bay in the west, Point Leo and Westernport Bay to the east
The estate's wines are all produced from a single four acre vineyard in a small valley at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula. The conditions are excellent, deep, well drained red basalt soils nurture the vines, as the cool maritime climes lead to a long, slow ripening period. Starting from scratch in 1991, the north facing 1.6 hectare vineyard surrounded by bushland now has 5000 hand tended vines of mostly Pinot Noir with a small block of Pinot Meunier. Here at Rahona Valley, the vines are mature and the drinkers are noticing the difference. All vines are own rooted, so provided there are a couple more generations of dedicated vignerons and winemakers, characteristics should compare with Burgundy. Rahona Valley's best wines are aged in the barrel for 18 months or more, whereas the normal process is to bottle after 12 months so that barrels can be reused for the next harvest.

More About Provenance Wines
Provenance Wines was established in 1997 with the simple objective of making great wines that exhibit the fruit quality and terroir of special vineyards in and around the Geelong viticultural region
Owner winemaker Scott Ireland has been involved in the wine industry for over twenty five vintages. Experience gained from extensive travel and work in the wine industry throughout Australia, France and the US led to the desire to create his own brand of wines. Wines representative of their source (provenance), but shaped by his feel for the winemaking craft/ art. Scott is a passionate (surely Richo should get an honorary Brownlow) Tiger supporter who loves nothing more than relaxing on his old wooden boat, glass in hand. The wine industry provides both challenge and solace for him.

Preece chose an old grazing estate, prized for it's climate, soil and proximity to the waterways. Colin Preece, one of the great winemakers of the 20th century, and for decades chief winemaker at Seppelt Great Western, came out of a ten-year retirement to help found Mitchelton in 1973.
More About Portsea Estate Winery
Portsea Estate vineyard is located on the century old Tintagel property overlooking Bass Strait at the very tip of Victoria's Mornington Peninsula
Founder Warwick Ross's family has had strong ties with the Portsea/Sorrento area since the late 1800s, when grandfather Dr. Frederick Kiel travelled regularly by paddle steamer as a young man from Melbourne to spend his summers at Sorrento. The Kiel family acquired Pembroke, an historic limestone cottage on Melbourne Road, as their summer residence, which remained in the family until the 1970s. The Kiels acquired the 40 acre Tintagel farm on Portsea Ocean Beach in 1956, a place of undulating paddocks and sweeping views of tempestuous Bass Strait. The subsequent acquisition of the adjoining 106 acres from the Baillieu family in the 1960s allowed the Ross family to expand their cattle grazing activities with the introduction of Angus and Hereford herds.

They chose the Bendigo region in Central Victoria and with family support set about establishing 25 acres of vineyard with grapes varieties that they were passionate about. About the Piano Piano Winery
Traditional vignerons, Marc Scalzo and Lisa Hernan established a homestead vineyard by planting their own Chardonnay and Shiraz vines on a picturesque site in Beechworth
Piano Piano vineyards are located on a highly sought after golden mile amongst some of Beechworths most notable wine producers. They focus on making premium, estate grown single vineyard wines, vintages with a strong sense of place. Rather than impose his own personality on the wines, Marc has always strived to let the vineyard tell its own story. Marc started his wine education around the kitchen table at home. His father Mario introduced him to a wide selection of local and Italian wines. After graduating with a Science degree from Monash University and working for IBM for five years, the lure of wine was strong. Marc then studied Wine Science at Charles Sturt University and has many years of practical experience, including seven years as a winemaker at Brown Brothers and vintages at Giaconda, Seresin Estate (NZ), Delegats (NZ) and John Gehrig Wines. Marc is also Chief Winemaker at Rutherglen Estates.
About Pettavel Winery
David Pettavel pioneered the establishment of the Geelong wine region in 1842, the industry's early successes are a tribute to Pettavel's accurate assessment of the climatic and geological influences of the region
David Pettavel left Switzerland and emigrated to Australia in 1842 aboard the barque Platina. Upon landing at Port Philip, Pettavel continued directly to the hills of Geelong to plant the region's first vineyard. These vineyards, and the wine produced from them were such a success that Pettavel immediately began plans for further vineyard development throughout the rolling hills of Geelong. The shortage of skilled labour became a major constraint to Pettavel's expansion, so Pettavel returned to Switzerland, and sailed back to Australia aboard the ship the Evening Star in 1856 after convincing family and friends to follow him to Australia.

More About Paul Osicka Winery
Paul Osicka is one of the longest established Heathcote estates, planting vines in the 1950s, when Heathcote as a winegrowing region was but a twinkle in the eyes
Grown without irrigation on sandly loam soil over quartz and red ironstone gravels, the vineyard is managed according to organic principles without the use of herbicides or insecticides. The vines are hand pruned to balance the yield and the grapes are hand picked to achieve optimum fruit quality. These factors combine to produce small intensely flavoured and coloured fruit necessary to make premium wines. The principal red wine produced is Shiraz followed by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

More About Paringa Estate Wines
Lindsay and Margaret McCall began their incredible journey in 1984 with the purchase of a derelict orchard on Paringa Road at Red Hill Mornington
In the search for a new vineyard property, their requirements included a north facing slope, a permanent running creek and adequate wind protection. The shade thrown by the enormous 60 year old pine trees that surrounded the property proved to be a negative, but when the trees were removed it revealed the stunning views that are now such a recognisable feature of Paringa Estate. The first vines were planted in 1985 and by 1990 the 10 acres (4.2 hectares) were fully planted.

About Oatley Winery
The Oatley Wines story is of the legendary Oatley family themselves, supported by an outstanding group of extended family and friends
The Oatleys have played an important part in the Australian wine industry since their first vintage at Rosemount Estate in 1974. Those wines were the predecessors of many hundreds of highly awarded and recognised bottlings of fine Australian wine under the Oatley family direction. With the 2001 merger of Rosemount to Southcorp Wines and the subsequent sale of Southcorp to Foster’s in 2005, the Oatleys decided to re-enter the wine business. Logically they followed their calling back to the vineyard and established Oatley Wines, quickly gathering a team of extended family and friends to do the job.

About Nillumbik Estate Wines
The small, family owned and operated Nillumbik Estate has been producing award winning wines in the Yarra Valley for many years
Nillumbik means shallow earth, so named by the original inhabitants to signify a lack of top soils lost to undulating terrains. The western edges of Yarra Valley are covered by a harsh and hilly topography which can challenge winemakers as the unaccomodating soils and aspects produce grapes of concentration and intensity.
