A delectable concord of moreish grapes which are unique to Brown Brothers. The wickedly fragrant Orange Muscat with a smaller component of the devilishly delish Flora, two fruity varietals little known or planted in Australia. Orange Muscat forms the backbone, providing fragrances of orange blossom to the nose and a fresh citrus hint to the palate, while the Flora contributes colour, texture and mouthfeel. This luscious wine makes a perfect partner to a wide range of desserts. Warm sticky date pudding with caramel sauce being a long time favourite.
From fruit grown to the highly specialised Mystic Park Vineyard, harvested late in the season to splendid levels of sugar baume. Orange Muscat is part of the Muscat family and hails from the southeast of France, deriving it's name from the golden hue the grapes develop when fully ripe and the strong aroma of orange blossom given off at vintage when the grapes are crushed. Flora was developed at the Californian Agricultural Department Station in 1958 from a cross between Semillon and Gewürztraminer. It produces a wine of fragrance and body with fresh acid backbone. Vinification of the fruit is arrested early to retain exciting flavours, aromas and complexity. Alcohol 10.0%
TASTING NOTES
Vibrant yellow colour. Seductive, zesty, tangy orange blossom aromas, a lifted nose of citrus, spice and musk. The Flora component delivers lovely clean fragrances, and extends onto the palate with tropical acidity, creamy lychee, and hints of rose petal. Fully loaded with flavours of apricot and stonefruit, a refreshing grapey quality, spaetlese with doses of marmalade, essence of lemon and pith. Intense flavours abound, the palate is full and rich, fresh and tangy, with a zesty finish, long clean and balanced.
 Brown Brothers
In 1885 John Francis Brown, aged 18 planted ten acres of mostly Riesling, Muscat and Shiraz grapes on his Milawa property, located in the lower reaches of the King Valley in North East Victoria
Milawa Vineyard is the birth place of the Brown Brothers company, the first Brown Brothers wines were released in 1889. Surrounding the cellar door, Milawa Vineyard is the fruit source for renowned wines such as Patricia Noble Riesling, Shiraz Mondeuse & Cabernet and Dolcetto. It is also home to Brown Brothers’ winemaking facilities where grapes are received, crushed and made into quality wine. The current expanse of Brown Brothers vineyards, now located throughout Victoria, are as varied as the wines and wine styles. Brown Brothers»
