Peter Lehmann retains access to some of the most salubrious vineyards in all South Australia. Layers is a melange of flavour drawn from five varietal grapes. When once asked why the Barossa could make so many different good wines, Peter Lehmann replied that it was plainly so. It's all about the Barossa's viticultural heritage, its ability to excel across a range of styles and its reputation as Australia's great winemaking region. Barossa grown Chardonnay and Semillon, Adelaide Plains Muscat, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Gris from the Adelaide Hills, are all treated to a cold fermentation in temperature controlled tanks followed by an early bottling to achieve a lively, fresh yet complex white wine.
