The passion for wine has never diminished at Zema. The family's dream has always been to own a piece of Coonawarra's famed Terra rossa soil and create their own world class wines. The attention to detail in the vineyard, including the very unfashionable practice of hand-pruning is what stands Zema apart from the majority in Coonawarra. This wine was made from optimally harvested fruit, fermented for 7 days under controlled temperatures in a combination of rotary and static fermenters. Maturation in small French and American oak casks for sixteen months has assisted in the development of a fabulous Coonawarra Cabernet that shows vibrant richness and attractive fruit flavours.
